Mountain Biking in Vermont

Much of Vermont's challenging mountain bike terrain is located in or near Vermont's four season mountain resorts.

Many resorts offer bike rentals and mapped trail systems. Several alpine resorts have adapted chair lifts to accommodate bikes during the summer and fall seasons. In order to give you a better overview, we have assembled a list of resorts and what they have to offer. This list will give you a basic overview with contact information:

On state lands mountain biking is allowed on gravel surfaced roads including:

  • Missisquoi Valley Rail Trail
  • Delaware and Hudson Rail Trail
  • State Park roads
  • and Trails in the Cottonbrook and Ricker basins above the Waterbury Reservoir (near Waterbury)
