Outdoor Recreation Trails

Multi-use trails are a popular way to explore Vermont

Local Motion's "Trail Finder" is an ongoing project to help map existing trails around the state, starting in the Lake Champlain region.

Over 50 volunteers have ventured out to collect and verify trail data. The Trail Finder's goal is to help people get out, get active, and explore our beautiful area. Whether you're a resident or a visitor, commuting or recreating, seeking thrills or a quiet moment, we'll help you find a great place to go! This is your source for hiking, biking, inline skating, and cross country ski trails in Chittenden, Addison and Grand Isle Counties. Handicap accessible trails are available at Mount Independence Historic Site in Orwell and on the Robert Frost Trail in East Middlebury.
