Apples To iPads
Apples to iPads was at one point a fun way to introduce new technology to a Vermont tradition of picking apples with friends or family. In partnership with Small Dog Electronics, Woodchuck Draft Cider and Vermont Tree Fruit Growers, we were able to hide wooden apples in participating orchards.
Participating pick-your-own orchards would have hidden a wooden apple just ripe for the picking! The lucky scout who spotted one received an Apple iPod, iPod Shuffle or iPad.
While this program is no longer active, pick-your-own orchards are still a great family tradition.
Pick Your Own Food
Vermont's farms, orchards, country stores and farm stands allow you to walk their land and pick, pluck, cut, and dig for your own food. Be it apples, potatoes, berries, corn or pumpkins, pick-your-own's give you the chance to get closer to the land, and the end product you'll eventually be eating.
