Windsor, Vermont

Along the Connecticut River, and beneath Mount Ascutney in the Lower Connecticut River Valley region, Windsor is where history, art, and scenic beauty come together. With two lakes downtown and cycling and hiking opportunities right outside, it offers the perfect opportunity for enjoying the outdoors in every season.

Old Constitution House

Originally a tavern, the Vermont Constitution was signed here in 1777. It was the first in the nation to ban adult slavery and establish a system of public schools. Visit and explore period-correct rooms with interpretive panels outlining the context behind the state’s Constitution, including the 14 years during which Vermont existed as a republic.
