Two Fifty-One

That’s the number of towns and cities that are in Vermont. No two are the same, and every single one is worth a visit. Some are on the bigger side – a second or third stay may be required for the full experience. Others are quite small – you’ll pass through them in a blink of an eye if you’re not paying attention.

Some town names like Berlin, Jamaica, and Peru, will make you think twice about which continent you're on. Other towns like Barre, Charlotte, Topsham, and Worcester are every bit as quirky as their pronunciations. The remaining towns are just as inviting. Some are known for their historical importance, while others are hot spots for dining, recreation, shopping, and more. Then there are the lesser-known towns, acting as quiet hideaways off the beaten path, offering a truly once in a lifetime encounter.

Whether you seek unusual buildings, hidden waterfalls, or other alluring scenery, one of our 251 towns is guaranteed to have it. As you visit one or many of these towns, we want to hear about your adventures on social media. Let us know which towns you visit by tagging @VermontTourism in your Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter posts and include the #ThisisVT and #VT251 hashtags to join the conversation.
