Vermont Independence Day Celebrations

From longstanding fireworks displays that attract thousands of spectators, to traditional Fourth of July parades and celebrations, nothing feels more like summer than commemorating Independence Day in Vermont.

Northern Region:

4th of July Celebration
July 2, Barton
Join the Orleans County Fair Association every July 4th in Roaring Brook Park to celebrate Independence Day. Festivities typically get underway with Tractor pulls at 9 a.m. and include a variety of events to keep the whole family entertained.

Independence Day Celebration Fireworks
July 4, Williston
The 4th of July celebrations in the Town of Williston have always been a joy for all attendees. Its itinerary includes a parade, a running competition, live music performances and more. Just like every year, the icing on the cake is the city's Independence Day Celebration Fireworks. It is a majestic display that illuminates the sky and gives everyone a sight worth remembering.

Milton July 4th Celebration

Festivities start at 11 a.m. with the annual parade which runs until a little after noon. Then, at 5:30 p.m. there will be live music performances with a DJ and a chicken barbecue at the Milton Fire Station. And what is a celebration without an extravagant fireworks show? Watch them at dusk at Bombardier Park West.

The Annual 4th of July Celebration in Cabot, Vt returns this year on Monday, July 4, 2022.  While the exact date of its origin in unknown, Cabot’s proud tradition of celebrating Independence Day started more than 50 years ago, and features the Cabot 4th of July Parade stepping off at 11 am.

President Calvin Coolidge Birthday Celebration
July 4, Plymouth
Join us to celebrate Calvin Coolidge’s 150th birthday! At 12:00 Noon, the Vermont National Guard leads a march to lay a wreath from the White House at the president’s gravesite. The event and activities are free; admission is charged to tour the historic buildings.

4th of July Parade and Street Fair
July 4, Wardsboro
Along scenic VT Route 100 sits the tiny town of Wardsboro, which hosts Southern Vermont’s self-proclaimed oldest Independence Day celebration. The day’s festivities begin with a street fair featuring over 50 vendors at 9 a.m., and the parade follows at 10 a.m. Other activities include a duck race, face painting, quilt show, fishing derby, and more.

4th of July Fireworks at Stratton Mountain
July 3, Stratton
Fireworks are back at Stratton for our annual Fourth of July weekend celebration. Gates open at 8:30pm and fireworks are set to hit the sky at 9pm on Sunday, July 3. Join us for a special night of fireworks in southern Vermont.

Reading and Celebration of the Declaration of Independence
July 4, Bennington
Outdoor seating for a relaxing read of the infamous document. Citizen Mike Chapman will interpret the Declaration of Independence the way it was meant to be brought to the people. The commemoration will continue to the downtown with the ringing of the ‘Bennington Bell’ at the town offices.
