Independence Day Celebrations


From longstanding fireworks displays that attract thousands of spectators, to traditional Fourth of July parades and celebrations, nothing feels more like summer than commemorating Independence Day in Vermont.

Whether you seek a visit to one of our bustling cities, small towns or beautiful ski mountains, you’ll surely find an Independence Day celebration in Vermont that offers fireworks, food and fun – at just the pace you’re looking for.

Below is a list of festivities for 2017:

Independence Day Celebration
July 1, Bakersfield
Entertainment includes a book sale, 5K run, blessing of animals, local music, cow plop contest, silent auctions, horseshoe tournament, and afternoon family activities.

Fireworks, Music & Dinner
July 1, Springfield
Join us on Saturday July 1st at Crown Point Country Club for live music,dinner and fireworks. Gates open at 5pm. We will have food and beverage vendors set up in the parking lot.In addition we will have a buffet dinner in our dining room tickets include admission to the fireworks.

Mountain Friends and Freedom Festival at Stratton Mountain
July 1, Stratton
Celebrate summer and Independence Day at Stratton Mountain’s Annual Mountain Friends and Freedom Festival. The whole family can enjoy fireworks, gondola rides, live music, barbecues, face painting, carnival games, paintball, hiking, yoga and much more at the party of the summer.

Spend the evening at Stratton celebrating mountain friends and freedom with a spectacular fireworks display. Enjoy activities throughout the day. Fireworks in the Main Base Lodge area at dark.

Fireworks for Freedom at Mount Snow
July 3, Dover
Join us at Mount Snow while we celebrate our nation's independence with a huge fireworks display and BBQ on Monday, July 3. The party & best viewing area will be in front of the Grand Summit Resort Hotel. Fireworks will begin at "dark" which we anticipate to be about 9pm.

Come join Burlington Parks, Recreation & Waterfront at our annual July 3rd Independence Day Celebration on the Burlington Waterfront and other parks!

Fourth of July Celebration
July 3, Montpelier
July 3rd is the Capital City's largest festival of the year with many activities happening downtown throughout the day and more than 40 food and craft vendors lining State Street. The fun begins at 3 pm with the Family Olympics on the State House Lawn. After the Olympics, the Montpelier Mile Road Race begins at 6 pm and kicks-off the Parade! After enjoying the parade, join us on the State House Lawn for a music concert and fireworks show!

Bristol Fourth of July
July 4, Bristol
The festivities start with a 5K road race at 7:30am. Parade starts at 10:30am, with live music and food on the green starting at 12:00pm.

Old Vermont Fourth at Billings Farm and Museum
July 4, Woodstock
Celebrate the Billings Farm & Museum's "Old Vermont 4th" on Tuesday, July 4, from 10:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., featuring traditional music, flag-making, hand cranked ice cream, horse-drawn wagon rides, patriotic speeches, and an historic debate.

Independence Day Celebration at Smugglers' Notch Resort
July 4, Jeffersonville
An old-fashioned July 4th celebration in Jeffersonville with parade at 10:00 am, carnival with games and vendors, kids' games, live entertainment from 66 City Band playing classic rock tunes, and food. Don't forget the world famous frog jumping contest!

Fourth of July at Sugarbush
July 4, Warren
Join Sugarbush for a patriotic Fourth of July! The 69th annual Warren Parade is guaranteed to be wild, wacky, and wickedly fun, with street dance and family festivities. The parade starts at 10 AM. Main Street in Warren closes at 8:30 AM. The celebration continues at Lincoln Peak with dining specials, live music, and a fireworks display.

Old Fashioned Fourth of July
July 4, Stowe
Enjoy a day-long celebration with food, music, entertainers, fireworks and more! Starting with the Moscow parade and ending with Stowe's annual fireworks display, this is a great day to spend in Stowe.

Hometown Fun and Fireworks at Willow Park
July 4, Bennington
This July 4th, celebrate our independence with some hometown fun and fireworks at Willow Park in Bennington, VT.

Colchester 4th of July Celebration
July 4, Colchester
From 6-9 p.m., concession vendors will be selling food, drinks, glow sticks, and more. Music entertainment will take place from 6:45-8:45 p.m., before the fireworks show at dusk from the Bayside Softball Field.

Essex Junction’s Maple Street 4th of July Celebration
July 4, Essex Junction
A host of fun activities for the whole family and food kick off the celebration at 6 p.m., followed by the fireworks show.

Milton Independence Day Celebration
July 4, Milton
Enjoy a barbecue at the fire station at 6 p.m. and a community band performance at 7:30 at Bombardier Park West, before the fireworks show at approximately 9:15.

Williston Independence Day Celebration
July 4, Williston
Entertainment begins at 7 p.m. at Allen Brook School before the evening fireworks show.
